VoltCMS Started

without comments

I’ve been thinking for a couple months now, about how many different cms (content management systems) I’ve tried in the past, and honestly if I could “mix-n-match” a bunch of them I would be the happiest person in the world!! So I’ve decided to bring a project to life with the help of a couple friends, VoltCMS.

VoltCMS is a new Content Management System trying define the way people look at content management systems and to add what other cms’s don’t include in their system. Providing what others lack!

If anyone really has any features that they would love to have in a freshly built cms, please let me know; via a comment in this post.

Tips on moving your website

without comments

Have you ever moved your website, and you keep thinking you might be loosing users or if your even doing this properly. There are quite a few ways that you can make this process a lot easier and in the end, possibly a lot less errors.

  • Test your website on a private subdomain, before moving all of your files, etc. to another domain.
  • Setup a 301-Redirect (or another 3xx code), this will provide redirection and will be recognized by search engines.
  • Some domain registar’s will allow you to set up a 301-Redirect via a domain control panel (ex. GoDaddy)

This is about it for now, I think I’m going to start writing ‘how-to’ posts again, better ones and longer. If anyone would have any questions please feel free to post a comment and I will try and respond asap.

Twitter Links

without comments

I’ve known this for a little while, but just really started thinking about it… What would happen if tinyurl.com would go offline or get shutdown… Twitter automatically cuts down long urls and replaces them with a tinyurl.com link… oh the humanity if this would happen!!!

Starcraft Junkie

with 2 comments

I’ve re-installed starcraft; could this be a mistake? My buddy said that we should start playing it again (talking about this in English class) then found out my english teacher plays it. So he was supposed to install the game again and all 3 of us will be playing starcraft together… how cool is that a teacher that plays starcraft!!! But anyways back to what I was talking about in the beginning of this post; could this be a bad idea, re-installing starcraft… we shall see in the future; I guess I will have to keep a close eye on my xfire profile. That is if I stay logged in long enough for it to start logging my hours :P

The Burgerking Steakhouse burger…

with 4 comments

Around 6:00pm I went out to eat quick with my girlfriend… So we went to Burger King for something quick and I saw the ad on the window, that stopped me dead in my tracks — I stared in amazement for about a minute… I saw the ad for the Burger King Steak House burger, I tried it and it was pretty good, but seriously after reading this post @The impulsive buy — I thought twice; and quote:

When The King isn’t watching you sleep or molesting your children, he’s in the corporate test kitchen. He’s probably molesting the chefs too, but what he’s really doing is finding ways to slowly kill you with fat so that he may harvest your organs to pay for the medical bills that come from maintaining that abnormally large head of his. It’s no surprise that he managed to get this gut-busting Burger King Loaded Steakhouse Burger green-lit.

So I’m guessing I will just forget my last twitter and I guess forget about the burger… I’m not really even sure why I turned this into a blog post…

@ Don’t let The King harvest your organs. Boycott this overpriced monstrosity.

MySpace Developer Platform a joke?

without comments

I’ve been trying to gain access to the MySpace Developer platform for about a month or so. Now that they have released the Myspace Apps section, I would like to get access to the development platform hoping to make a couple applications, and test them out. But when I try and login; I keep getting this error…

Failed Creation. InvalidEmail. 84308172There was an error signing in.

I’ve contacted Myspace’s support team, numerous times about this matter and keep getting the same response… You would think that this problem would be a priority; because its needed by developers to create new apps… But I guess I complain too much!!

Possible Concerts?

with 2 comments

As some people know, but not many… I will finally be graduating high school on June 10th. I’m going to be flying out to California and St. Louis for a little. I will be visiting family and hopefully I still have to find out, possibly **cough** most likely not but I will try **cough** make it to a live Revision3 show (Diggnation is supposed to have a live show in San Francisco, I think…)!!!

Anyways, I’m hoping to goto a concert when I’m out there but I’m not sure what band or bands I should see, I do know some of the following are playing around where I will be: Rush, Steve Miller Band, Death Cab for Cutie, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Crosby, Stills & Nash. Those are some of the bands playing when I will be in the area, but not as many as I thought! So if I go see a show, I’m having a bit of trouble deciding, I wish STP would be playing around the area when I’m going out there!!!! Anyone have any ideas?!?!

Website Redesign

without comments

I’ve been brainstorming and trying to come up with some good ideas for my website (www.justinlosh.com). I’ve been wanting to redesign it and make it more simple and easier for me to update. So far my ideas are to include; a lifestream feed, a contact form, and possibly some other content and just have a simple 3 column theme. This also gives me more time to learn some more programming languages.
